COMPETENCIES: (i.e., to be defined in terms of required education, training, skills, and/or experience)


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Strong Knowledge in OSHA & EPA Regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Skill in presenting recommendations for action plans to management based on analysis
  • Regulatory training or experience with OSHA & EPA certifications as an EHS professional are a plus

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (i.e., functions, authorities, tasks, etc.)


  • Act as Safety Coordinator, leading the development and monitoring of safety programs and training company-wide
  • Plant safety program support in developing a Safe Work Environment through protective guarding, preventative practices, proper PPE, etc. Environmental and Safety involvement including necessary documentation support
  • Maintain compliance of The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29CFR1910 and The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 40CFR.
  • Inspects facility(s) to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Complete incident/accident reports and investigations.
  • Monitor and analyze incident reports; including personal injury, property damage, fires, spills, near misses, etc., to develop and communicate trends and targets for improvement
  • Manages Environmental and Safety audits and project reviews.
  • Perform and/or coordinate monitoring activities to ensure compliance with EHS regulation including material, process and equipment review, emission and waste tracking, industrial hygiene, noise, ergonomics, visible emissions, odors, water discharges, etc.
  • Owns and maintains the EHS Procedure Manual for all programs.
  • Conducts and coordinates EHS training sessions for various programs and assists in development/revision of training materials.
  • Develops various EHS communications for delivery to employees and contractors.
  • Evaluate new materials and material use to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote a safe work environment and protect the environment.
  • Work with engineering in the design and installation of new or altered equipment or processes with the goal of eliminating or reducing safety hazards and environmental impact.
  • Develop and maintain Job Safety/Hazard Assessments and environmental impact assessments.
  • Evaluate personal protective equipment (PPE), new tools and equipment and make recommendations regarding their use and operation to ensure employee safety
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Comply with the company's quality management system requirements
  • Follow and enforce all company policies

  • Advocate for continuous improvement projects
