Work Environment
This position is in a plant environment which includes frequent exposure to heat, noise, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes.

COMPETENCIES:
- BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 2yrs experience, preferably in metal rolling/casting/forging or heavy industrial/equipment OEM acceptable
- Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, equipment installation and operation, controls (electrical and mechanical), furnaces, burner and controls
- Lean and Continuous Improvement background with good Problem Solving skills
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work with others
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be computer proficient (Office, SolidWorks required; AutoCAD a plus)
- Must be detail oriented
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, maintain and safeguard all drawings, specifications, manuals, etc. pertaining to the facilities, buildings, processes, equipment and machinery.
- Assist in developing systems in the Engineering Department including standards for documentation, data collection (Factory Talk or similar), project management, etc.
- Work with teams of production and maintenance personnel to research various topics including: equipment, components, process improvement, troubleshooting problems, etc.
- Create/maintain necessary drawings for In-house and Contractor fabrications.
- Assist with vendor coordination and expediting
- Manage projects or portions of projects as assigned by others
- Work with maintenance crews to assist with document retrieval, component procurement, PM development and troubleshooting issues.
- Assist with environmental data logging, reporting and improvements.
- Contact person for basic machine control principles and programming
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Interface internally with employees.
- Interface externally with the vendors and the general public.
